2009 Girls Red ~ Ilusion
Coach Julia Tracy
WVFC 2009 Girls Red are a competitive girls soccer team known as the "Illusion" -- and currently compete in the Club Champions League (CCL) which has teams from MD, DC, VA, and WV. Prior to that they competed in the DC area's top league, National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).
Over the years, the team has competed in highly competitive tournaments all around Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, as well as in the WV State Cup as part of the US Soccer National Championship series.
Some of the tournaments include the highly prestigious WAGS Tournament , Hunt Country Classic, Gettysburg Blue-Gray Cup (PA), and many more.
They train hard for Fall and Spring seasons, but allow the girls to participate in other sports, too (as is feasible) -- while maintaining a rigorous player development approach in order to prepare the girls for continued advancement in their competitions, and go further to play in high school and college.
They also have girls that aspire to do the US Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) as U14 and onward.
Head Coach - Julia Tracy
Coach Julia has coached competitive soccer for all ages in WV and VA -- which includes youth soccer and high school soccer. She recently (Jan 2022) earned her US Soccer National C Coaching License! And before that: National E & D Licenses.
On top of soccer, she is a professor at Shepherd University. Dr. Tracy earned an MS in Health and Physical Education, and a doctorate, Ed.D., in Physical Education Teacher Education. So, she is able to address not only soccer, but the development of the "whole" athlete's health and fitness. She has also been a competitive tennis instructor -- and played college Division II soccer and tennis.
Her Assistant Coach is Ted Clutter, who has also coached for many years and has a US Soccer National E Coaching License.
Both live with their families in the WV Panhandle area.
